The Eye Clinic of Meridian prides itself in offering state of the art medical and surgical eye care. We continue to stay up to date on both surgical and medical treatment of eye disease. At the Eye Clinic of Meridian, we've performed 25,000 major ophthalmic surgeries, 15,000 laser surgical procedures, and over 6,000 LASIK refractive surgery procedures.

The clinics are staffed on a rotating basis by Drs. Marascalco and Mason. We currently have four locations to conveniently serve the people of east central Mississippi and west central Alabama.

The Eye Clinic of Meridian began performing refractive eye surgery in May, 2000. Since inception of the program, over 6,000 procedures have been performed at our laser center. Drs Marascalco and Mason, in partnership with Laser Vision Centers, Incorporated, perform all refractive surgery in an operating suite located in their main office in Meridian, MS. They currently use the VISX Star S4 Tracking Excimer laser. It is the industry standard and is the only laser FDA approved for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Candidates for the procedure are initially screened by the refractive surgery coordinator, Lou Ann Barnett, R.N., COA. Our laser center has the only in house WaveScan technology in the state of Mississippi. We perform a comprehensive LASIK evaluation examination on everyone prior to scheduling their LASIK surgery.  This examination determines each patient’s candidacy for the actual LASIK surgery and is performed at no charge for all interested parties. 

The Eye Clinic of Meridian LASIK Surgery Center performs both conventional and custom LASIK surgical procedures.  Our surgical procedure price is competitive with most all Surgical Centers and includes preoperative evaluation, refractive surgical procedure, all postoperative visits for the first year, and enhancements for the first year.
